Urdahl is a senior researcher with long experience within zoonoses, particularly human pathogenic E. coli and AMR. She coordinates the activities on antimicrobial resistance at the Norwegian Veterinary Institute, activities consisting of several research projects, surveillance programs, advisory to the authorities etc. Urdahl is currently project leading the antibiotic resistance surveillance programs in the veterinary sector; NORM-VET and MRSA in swine, as well as two research projects on quinolone resistance. She is also involved as WP leader in two other research projects on antimicrobial resistance. Additionally, she is involved in research and advisory activities linked to the Norwegian strategy of prevention and control of livestock-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus in the pig population.
